Studying is fun, but you don't forget why you
are here: to prepare for working life. For you, studying is a jumping-off point
to the job of your dreams. That is why it is important that during your studies
you acquire not only knowledge, but also skills that will come in handy later
on. Your heart beats faster with practical assignments where you can apply your
knowledge. Outside the lecture hall, you work on your resume: through your side
job or through skills training and networking events. There you make plans and
prepare yourself for the real life that is about to begin.
Your intensive preparation will give you an edge
over your fellow students when you soon start your career. You will already
have one foot in society and you will know how to translate the knowledge from
textbooks to the practicalities of the workplace.
Preparing for later is important, but don't
forget to also enjoy the opportunities your study time gives you now. During your
college years, you have a lot of freedom to expand your horizons. Make sure you
don't regret missing out on that freedom later.
You probably already have a career plan of your own...
